AFRO-HOUSE musician Rethabile Khumalo is paying tribute to her music.

The 27-year-old musician from Sebokeng, Vaal who has kept Mzansi dancing with her hit songs during the festive seasons, said she wants to continue doing that.

Rethabile has released her new EP titled Culo, meant to pay tribute to her music.

She made Mzansi dance in 2019 when she was featured by DJ Zinhle on the song, Umlilo

She brought fire again in 2020 with her song titled Ntyilo Ntyilo, featuring Master KG.

Rethabile told Daily Sun that she is today because of her music.

“I just realised that music took me from the bottom to the top, and I’m grateful for that.

“Music is also a special tool that comforts us during tough times when we are sad,” she said.

Rethabile said her music is different because it educates people while they are dancing.

“This EP consists of songs like Culo, Umjolo, Malume and Uthingo. I educate people about what is happening in their families and love relationships.

“Now umjolo has become a pandemic because people get hurt left, right and centre. Some people tend to include other people in their umjolo. I want to remind them that umjolo is for two people, nothing else,” she said.

Rethabile said that with her new song titled Malume, she also wants to remind uncles not to bully children in their family homes.

She said she's preparing to release her third album in 2023.
