SOME singers struggle when they retire from music because they didn’t save up for their kids.
But this one wants his children to have something in future.
Renowned house music producer Dr Moruti (38) said he made his recent album, The Heir That I Breed, for his children.
The Tshwane-based Swollen Legs hitmaker has worked with artists such as Black Motion, Oskido, Donald, and Mono T.
He said that he did the album because his children are a miracle to him.
“I'd like to call my children my miracle. My firstborn child was born at five months. I never thought she'd be alive. The second one is a boy, and he was born at seven months. But the third one came on time,” he said.
Dr Moruti said he wanted them to have their assets.

“I registered a publishing company for them, meaning whatever this album is going to be doing, I'm not taking anything. It will all go to them,” he said.
He said that he's making the album their inheritance.
“I wanted to be that kind of album that will take care of my children. Their mother will obviously be their guardian,” he said.
Dr Moruti said he doesn’t want his kids to ask what he did when he retired.
“I don’t want to get funny questions from them when I've retired from music. I'm more of a producer than an artist, and my career as an artist hasn’t taken off, so you will never know when it will. I might decide to leave before it does,” he said.
He said that the album also has gospel songs.
“I made sure that I made my family happy with this album. Now I know that my family will listen to my album because it has gospel songs,” he said.
