THE late Amakhosi defender, Luke Fleurs' alleged killers, are set to appear in the Roodepoort Magistrates Court on Thursday, 25 April.

Following a brief court appearance on Friday, 19 April, the six accused, Ndumiso Ndura Moswane (26), Fernando "Nando" Sive (25), Nhlakanipho Dlamini (21), Franky Xaba (25), Maredi Mphahlele (36), and Thembinkosi Hlanikhawu (31) remain in custody.

Their Legal Aid representatives were absent during their second court appearance.

Previously, on Friday, 12 April, the accused were detained as they awaited their legal proceedings.

They were apprehended for their alleged involvement in the murder of the Kaizer Chiefs defender.

The charges against them include murder with a common purpose, robbery with aggravating circumstances, possession of firearms and ammunition, and defeating the ends of justice.

State Prosecutor Linda Duma presented the case to Magistrate Delise Smith during the court appearance.

The hearing was postponed because the Legal Aid representatives received their applications late.

Luke Fleurs tragically lost his life in an alleged hijacking at a petrol station in Florida, Joburg, on 3 April.

The Gauteng police successfully apprehended the six suspects on 10 April.

In another case, Jub Jub, whose real name is Molemo Maarohanye, will appear in court today.

The Joburg-based musician appeared in the Joburg Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 23 April.

This was after his case was postponed as he requested a relaxation of his bail conditions.

The 43-year-old is facing several charges, including rape, kidnapping and assault.

During the court proceedings, Jub Jub's defence lawyer, Terrence Ntsako Baloyi, asked Magistrate Betty Khumalo if they could apply for the relaxation of his bail conditions.

Ntsako said his client didn't have his passport and wouldn’t be travelling to other areas outside the country.

His bail condition stated that he must not communicate or attempt to communicate with the victims or complainants.

Jub Jub will also appear again on 13 June.

This will be for the outcome of his bail conditions.

In July 2023, the musician was arrested on 13 charges, including rape, attempted murder and assault.

The presenter was released on bail of R10 000 after he turned himself in at Brixton Police Station.

This was after police concluded an investigation into sexual assault allegations made by actress Amanda du-Pont, Masechaba Khumalo, Bonukuhle Mtsweni and Refilwe Khumalo.
