POPULAR singer and songwriter Marc Rantseli's life will be celebrated on Wednesday, 15 November.

The musician's memorial service will be held at the Soweto Theatre in Jabulani, Soweto.

The service will start at 3pm, celebrating his life and musical journey.

Marc's death was announced by his brother Alex Rantseli on Thursday, 9 November. He died of high blood pressure.

The 56-year-old was part of the family music duo called MarcAlex.

The two brothers were known for their hit Quick Quick, which reached number one on the South African music charts in June 1989. Alex said he was no longer himself when he visited him on Wednesday night, 8 November.

On Monday, 13 November, the family released a statement regarding his memorial service.

"We, as the Rantseli family, would like to express our deepest gratitude for the outpour of love and support we have received over the passing of our beloved son, brother and father. Marc was loved by his family, friends, and colleagues in the music industry."

"We therefore wish to celebrate Marc's life at a memorial service that will be open to the public this week before he's laid to rest on Saturday, 18 November 2023," the statement read.
