SINGER Lady Zamar has lost gigs due to the alleged rape case.
In 2017, Lady Zamar opened a case of rape against Sjava. But the Director of Public Prosecution withdrew the case in 2020.
Most people interpreted the withdrawal as false claims from Lady Zamar.
She has received a backlash since then.
On Sunday, 16 July, Lady Zamar took to Instagram to ask why people hated her this much.
"How have I become such an easy target for you guys?
"You guys don’t know me or my full story, and you don’t know why I've kept quiet for such a long time. You guys have no idea how you break a person. I can’t move on from your assumptions of what happened to me. You’ve made your opinions my truth. What’s the end goal of all this hate and why are you so determined to believe a story that’s not even full or mine?" she wrote.

The Love Is Blind hitmaker further said when she tries to tell her truth, people don't want to hear it.
"When I try to move on, you guys attack me. How am I supposed to exist in this space? When can I just be me and not have to either explain or apologise after you’ve commented on my stuff and said the most vile and evil tweets? What do you hope to achieve with it, what action would satisfy you guys?" she complained.
"I just can’t live my life. I can’t just tweet and I can’t just voice my opinions about anything, especially relationships. Please help me out here. Can I move on or should I keep on apologising for trying my absolute best to move on?"
In a post that sent shock waves, she further asked if she should kill herself.
"Do you want me to die, be murdered, go to jail to make you guys happy? Do you guys want me to stop making music or publicly cry so you can see how I actually feel about what happened to me?" she said.
In a separate post, Sjava sarcastically wrote: "Safe as long as my momma praying."
A popular event organiser, Mandla Maseko, told Daily Sun that Lady Zamar has already lost several gigs due to this.
"I know instances where her name was suggested but later dropped because nobody wanted to be associated with her brand. For now, I don't want to mention names. But I can confidently mention that she hasn't been booked for some time due to the alleged rape," said Mandla.
"Therefore, I'd like to plead with people to forgive her. She is an artist after all, and she cannot be pushed out."
Daily Sun tried to reach out to Sjava and Lady Zamar, but at the time of publishing they had not responded.
