THIS weekend is set to be lit, with the South African Music Awards (Samas) taking over Sun City Resort in Rustenburg, North West.

The annual music awards are back for the first time in two years, ready to rock Mzansi.

Comedian Mpho Popps and entertainer Robot Boii have been announced as the hosts of the first night on Saturday, 27 August. They will be joining hosts Nandi Madida and Lawrence Maleka, who will be hosting the main event, that will be broadcast on Sunday, 28 August.

Joining other hosts will be TikTok sensation Alphi Sipho Mkhwanazi, to host the red carpet and behind-the-scenes proceedings.

The first night of the Samas will be streamed live on TikTok page @thesamas_ and SAMA YouTube channel.

The second will be televised live on SABC1 at 8pm on Sunday.
