RADIO and TV star Lethabo "Lejoy" Mathatho loves taking care of young girls.
On Saturday, 17 June, the Lejoy Foundation launched a sanitary towels and toiletries drive for young girls and boys in Maboi Village in Limpopo.
Lejoy told Daily Sun she enjoyed spending time with the pupils from Ramakanyane Secondary School and giving back.
She said she believes this is the right thing to do and that it is close to her heart.
"The Lejoy Foundation recognises that menstruation is a natural and biological function that is not chosen. We are committed to helping girls experience their periods with dignity," she said.
The presenter said she will always advocate for young men and women to be well taken care of.

"Almost 200 girls have received sanitary towels that will last for the next 3 to 4 months. Many of girls in Mzansi are affected by what is known as period poverty and suffer in silence. Period poverty has a serious impact on teenage girls," she said.
Lejoy said this prevents them from going to school, playing sport and participating in social activities, and can even lead to health problems.
"Girls also find it difficult to talk to their parents or friends about their period-related feelings, which can make them feel ashamed and isolated. We also donated toiletries to 150 boys," Lejoy said.
She said boys are the girl's future husbands, so they need to teach them love as early as possible.
Lejoy can be seen every Friday night on 1Magic on the Real Housewives of Johannesburg, and every Monday at 8.30pm on Leihlo La Sechaba.
