ICONIC radio presenter Brenda Sisane has pulled a shocker and gone back to radio.
She left Kaya 959 in 2021 and at the time, she told Daily Sun she is going to relax because she had been on radio for 30 years.
But she is now back at Kaya 959 and the 57-year-old will host a new show called The Jazz Standard with Brenda Sisane every Sunday from 9am to 12pm. This is the timeslot Mo and Phindi occupied before leaving the station in October.
She told Daily Sun she is happy to be back home.
“There is a sense of starting afresh, even though I’ve been here before and I enjoy that. I went away for two years and came back refreshed. I think it’ll be refreshing for people too,” she said.

Speaking about her return, Brenda said she felt she needed to go back.
“I realised there was a still a call for me to return on air. And I remember I asked myself that if I don’t want to go back, what’s my reason? I thought about it and didn’t have a reason. I love radio and the next question was, if I return what would I do?
“I was given the freedom to do what I want and there were two things. The music genre that I love, jazz, and my desire to start conversations. There are a lot of issues, economic, financial and more. I want to tell stories and get solutions. That’s what my show is about,” she said.
Brenda had been working on festivals in the past two years.
“I found my feet as a festival producer and that gave me an understanding of my purpose. I’ve also been working on different programmes where I curate. So, there’s growth in terms of how I’ve gotten to where I am today," she said.
Kaya 959 MD Colleen Louw said they were happy to welcome Brenda back.
“We are delighted to have Brenda Sisane return to the airwaves. This move is in line with strengthening the weekend line-up, responding to the needs of our listeners and making sure we continue to be the number one choice in Gauteng. Brenda is an icon, and Kaya 959 is her home. Welcome back Brenda!” she said.
