AWARD-WINNING radio presenter Jacinta Ngobese has started her year with a big African continent nomination.
Jacinta, who presents a weekday midmorning show called the Cruise on Vuma FM, is nominated for the Ladies in Media Awards (LIMA) to be held in Ghana from 28 to 30 March 2024.
The 37-year-old radio presenter from KwaMashu, north of Durban, is nominated under African Female Radio Entertainment Show Host and Voice-Over Artist of the Year category.
Jacinta received a nomination letter on Monday, 1 January.
She told Daily Sun that she's humbled and encouraged that her work is getting noticed outside her country.
“It's encouraging to get recognition at the continental level because it shows that people see what I’m doing.
“I’m happy that I've been recognised in my country many times because I've scooped many awards including radio awards, KZN Entertainment awards and Sebenza awards,” she said.

Jacinta said getting this nomination means her radio career is growing and people outside her country also recognise her.
“What a way to start the year, being recognised outside the country still overwhelms me truly."
Jacinta had a great year in 2023 when she was selected to participate in the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) in the United States while she got engaged.
She was also a hero when she organised a successful big wedding for her listeners who wanted to get married but didn't have money.
Jacinta scooped Best Radio Producer at the MTN Radio Awards in 2014, where she was working as a producer for the Gagasi FM breakfast show hosted by Alex Mthiyane.
She also surprised many when she scooped the Best Radio Presenter Female award at the KZN Entertainment Awards in 2020, defeating popular Ukhozi FM radio presenters Dudu Khoza and Mroza Buthelezi.
Jacinta also has won Best Radio Presenter and Best Influencer on Sebenza awards.
