AMAPIANO singer Ricardo Mendes sings about love and hope in his recent singles.

is all about ,is all about love and hope with his new sound.

The 30-year-old musician, who grew up in KZN but now resides in Joburg, released his singles, Sizobona and Something About You, last month.

His full EP titled, I Am Ricardo Mendes, will be dropping on 30 September.

He told SunBuzz through his latest songs, he wanted to let people know they can survive anything, especially after the Covid-19 pandemic took so much from them.

He released his two singles last month, his full EP titled I Am Ricardo Mendes, will be dropping on 30 September 2022.

“I believe my music will restore hope in everyone who went through hardships. With this EP, I am saying rise up and do what you love,” he said.

Ricardo said his EP is also based on his life experiences.

The singer also faced some hardships in his life and lost all his savings.

He said he had to motivate himself and start all over again.

“The EP is also a celebration of life despite all the setbacks and challenges of it. I celebrate the fact that I came out on top and I’m still going,” he said.

Ricardo said the challenges he faced did not stop him from following his passion.

“I chose to pursue my music career on a full-time basis,” he said.

Ricardo said when he was offered a scholarship to study music, it was loud and clear this was the path he was meant to take.

Ricardo, who grew up in church as a pastor’s kid, said he believes that his future looks bright and promising.

He would like to grow his craft and work with other musicians.

“I would like to work with Kabza De Small because he is a creative genius.

“His sound is beautiful,” Ricardo said.

He said they would make a great team as their sound is similar he would work well with him as his sound and his are the same. He said he believes in being creative.

“I believe that we could produce good sound together. I feel like we could create magic in the studio,” Ricardo said.
