THE Special Olympics South Africa Polar Plunge is back!
The fundraising event was held on Saturday, 10 September and saw 150 of Mzansi’s popular people taking part in it.
The Polar Plunge sees the participants jumping into ice cold water to help raise funds for the 2022 Special Olympics South Africa National Games which will take place in Limpopo in October.
The Polar Plunge took place at Altitude Beach in Fourways and the celebs jumped in the water with over five tons of ice.
Last year, celebrities raised over R120 000 from the plunge and R100 000 was further donated by people. However, they were cancelled due to the pandemic.

The Olympics announced that the funds will be used this year.
The 2022 Special Olympics South Africa National Games in October will see the selection of the national team that will be participating in the 2023 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Berlin, Germany.
The Olympics provide training for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

Polar Plunge partnered up with radio station YFM, which broadcasted some its shows from the event.
The celebs who took the plunge include Kim Jayde, Lula Odiba, Gigi Lamayne, Harrison Crump, Moodchild Sanelly, Moneoa, Sizwe Alakine, Leanne Dlamini, Lerai Rakoditsoe, Nomuzi Mabeni and more.
