PASTOR Sipho Ngwenya is set to lift the spirits of music fans this Easter weekend.
The Ujesu Ufika Ekuseni hitmaker will be performing in Randfontein on Friday, 29 March, in Duduza on Saturday, 30 March, and will be traveling to Botswana to perform on 31 March.
Ngwenya from Vosloorus in Ekurhuleni said the performances are part of promoting his new single titled Liyabasebenzela, which will be released at the end of the month.
“The song is sung in nine different languages which include Shona, Zulu, and Pedi to accommodate everyone,” said Ngwenya.
“Every time we call on Jesus' name, it contains power. God in Heaven sees us through the eyes of Jesus. We can use His name to get anything that we want.
“We know people are facing many challenges in their lives. However, through music, we encourage them to stay positive and leave everything to God,” said Ngwenya.
Ngwenya, the pastor of Ark of the Good News Ministry, was ordained in 2012.
“Besides being a gospel singer, I preach the gospel to win souls for Jesus.
“Our youth are facing challenges; some are not working while others are smoking and are drug addicts. The role of the church is to help the youth with skills and intervene to fight drugs in our society,” said Ngwenya.

Ngwenya also hosts workshops to help drug addicts.
“We do one-on-one counselling for the addicts. Some of them have lost hope because the community does not look at them as normal people.
“Some of the addicts confirmed they stole from residents to get a fix, however, they are willing to change and go to rehab,” said Ngwenya.
He said every Wednesday they provide food and soap in Duduza, Ekurhuleni to drug addicts.
He said they appeal to anyone who wants to donate food and clothes to call him on 064 529 0300.
