OMHLE Diya loves amapiano and she's determined to make it.
At just 22 years old, Joburg's very own Omhle Ndiki, known as Omhle Diya, is setting the amapiano scene ablaze with her latest release, Angisakhoni, featuring Mlindo The Vocalist, which dropped on Friday, 20 October.
She said this time around, the journey was different.
"I found my voice and how I want to express myself vocally. Having Mlindo on the song was divinely orchestrated. We just connected emotionally, and we were able to write the song and bring magic," she said.
Omhle said as an up-and-coming female artist, it's not easy to break into the industry.
"One has to constantly prove themselves that you deserve the seat at the table," she said.
Originally from Cape Town, Omhle works as a voice-over artist at a media company.

She said after the release of her song, the love and support has been amazing and she's grateful and in awe.
Omhle described herself as somewhat introverted and she said she appreciates her personal space.
Her message to young people is that you can't compete with destiny. If your time has not come yet, be patient, work on yourself and empower yourself spiritually.
The vocalist said her love of the arts and entertainment was sparked when she entered and won school pageants, singing competitions and public speaking competitions, and that was the beginning of her journey in the music world.
Omhle said her biggest inspiration in the music industry is Thandiswa Mazwai.
Publicist Masechaba Khumalo sees Omhle as a versatile artist with a promising future.
"People will witness her growth and she will cross over to other music genres. Her brand has longevity that will inspire more industry giants to collaborate with her," said Masechaba.
