NIGERIAN singer, Ayra Starr, has decided to dump Mzansi.
The Rush hitmaker was set to host a concert called In The City Ayra Starr on 16 and 17 February in Joburg and Cape Town, respectively.
Organisers of the show, Steyn Entertainment, shared a statement to announce the news on Wednesday, 14 February.
“We regret to announce the cancellation of both In the City Ayra Starr shows scheduled to take place in Joburg and Cape Town on 16 and 17 February,” the statement read.
They said the cancellation happened because Ayra’s visa application was declined.

“Regrettably, as has happened numerous times with other artists from West Africa - through no fault of their own, visas were declined, despite exploring every avenue possible to secure visas for Ayra Starr and her team."
Those who bought tickets will be refunded in the next seven days.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause for those who've already purchased tickets. All previously purchased tickets will be fully refunded within seven business days via Quicket.
"We ask fans to email [email protected] if you don't receive your refund in the allocated time to be assisted,” they wrote.
This is the second time Ayra was expected to come to South Africa and failed.
The Grammy-nominated star was supposed to headline Rocking The Daisies in 2023 in Joburg and Cape Town. The event was scheduled for 6 to 8 October but was postponed to 17 to 19 November. After it was postponed, Ayra was removed from the line-up.
