Date My Family will introduce new twists for the bachelors and bachelorettes.

MZANSI'S favourite dating show, Date My Family is returning for a new season on Sunday, 7 April and it’s bringing new twists.

Mzansi Magic announced that they are introducing a new driver bae and they will also add new activities for the bachelors and bachelorettes.

In previous seasons, viewers loved the driver who transported people to their dates and named him Driver Bae.

“Season 12 has a few tweaks and twists! Viewers will meet a new ‘Driver Bae’ this season. Driver Bae continues with his duties conversing as he drives the bachelor/bachelorette to and from the date. Tune in and see if he ticks all the boxes,” announced the channel.

The show will also introduce a new activity called lifeline, where the bachelor or bachelorette speaks to the family they are going to visit over the phone before the official visit.

Date My Family introduces a new feature, lifeline: this is where the driver hands over a phone to the potential date before their date begins. The potential date has only one chance to communicate with the family to make a special request that they believe will influence the decision of their dinner guest,” they said.

They are also giving the bachelor or bachelorette an opportunity to choose a dating activity to soften the awkwardness of the dates.

Season 12 premieres on Sunday, 7 April on Mzansi Magic.
