“It’s amazing and iconic to be part of the hip-hop community, to have amazing conversations and be part of the dialogue,” Tshego said.
“Sometimes, it’s not only about the music and the bars, but the full spectrum of the hip-hop community that has to serve from illustrators to designers to rappers to the people, journalists, as well as people who write and talk about the music that we hear.
“It’s definitely something that I honour and will forever be grateful of – being able to be used as a vessel to such dialogues and being on such a show.”
Tshego said he’s enjoyed speaking to some of Mzansi’s hip-hop greats, as well as some of the world’s biggest rappers.
“Being able to have a conversation with the likes of Cassper Nyovest, KO, AKA, and having conversations with the Migos and French Montana. These are the people you never think to have a conversation or sit down with, so it’s been amazing for me to get into that space,” he said.
“Having conversations with Blxckie and some of the artists who are about to blow, because these are the artists who are going to be running the game. A-Reece is also one of the people I’d like to have a conversation with.”

About the death of the genre, Tshego said: “SA hip-hop was never dead.
“The way hip-hop was given its time is the way amapiano and other genres are given time. Amapiano is definitely an extension.”
