IT'S back to school, back to reality for many Mzansi kids today.
On Wednesday, 17 January, thousands of children across Mzansi returned to school as the new school year began.
Social media was flooded with photos of little ones in their school uniforms.
South African celebrities shared photos of their children on their social media platforms.
Adulting actress Samkelo Ndlovu posted photos of herself and her daughter on her first day at school.
She wrote: "I cried in the car after leaving you because I mourn the version of you I will never see again. But I am happy to welcome this new version of you. I wish you all the best on your journey of learning and discovering yourself and the world. My mum loves you, Zhuri Ngilosi."
The first Big Brother Mzansi winner, Mandla Hlatshwayo, posted a video of himself with his kids before they went to school.
"The grade R kids are also taking their first step today. We are late as usual thanks to young Mr Isaac also known as Skinnybones. Have fun in 1st grade,” he wrote.

Award-winning gospel musician Betusile Mcinga was one proud father who drove his son to school on his first day of school. He asked God to protect children in school.

The Wababiza Bonke Unoah hitmaker wrote on his Facebook page: "God please be with our children, protect them and protect everything."
Real House of Durban reality TV star Nonku Williams shared a picture of her two sons in school uniforms on Instagram.
She wrote: "My little champ is in first grade and raising the boys for me."
TV presenter and businessman Thato "TT" Mbha is one of the celebrities who always make sure his children are well equipped when it comes to education.
The Soweto-born TV presenter is always making videos with them in which he talks openly about what they want for their lives and what their goals are.
Today, on the first day of school, the presenter accompanied his children TJ and Tumi to school with his wife Esperanca Mbha.
He told the Daily Sun that it was the best feeling ever.
"It's the best feeling for us as parents to be part of our children's life journey. As a father, I don't want to miss a single moment of their development," he said.
