NIGERIAN producer, song-writer, composer, music teacher, actor, model and soccer player, Okafor “Chukido” Oscar Ray (37), has found a new home in South Africa.
Chukido is also an electrical engineer, having studied at the University of Benin in Nigeria, but he decided to pursue music. After his graduation he worked as a lecturer but music has always been his first love.
“I decided to follow music because it is where my heart is. As a young boy, I was exposed to different types of music and cultures.
“I later taught music in local churches. I did those music lessons for free. It was important for me to do those music lessons because the youth in my community looked up to me, as their mentor,” said Chukido.
He said his music talent gave him an opportunity to work with great artists such as Ntosh Gazi of John Vul’igate, Sbu Mthembu, of Ewe GetsemaneKunle Ayo, Banky W, Omowumi, Sinach, Kurt Carr, Lara George, Martin PK, and Peter Tobe.

“This was followed by City of Gold. I worked with Ntosh on this song, which is about the beauty of Jozi.
“I’ve also just dropped another song titled, Testimony. It’s an Afro-pop song and it was produced by myself,”he said.
“But the song, One in a million is an expression of love, it was inspired by someone special to me. I believe anyone who has been in love or loved will be able to relate to it. The song actually talks about the crazy things we do to show it,” he continued.
