THE memorial service for the late jazz legend Thapelo Joseph Mofokeng will take place on Thursday, 25 January.
The service will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church in Orlando East, Soweto at 4pm.
Family spokeswoman Matlakala Katane told Daily Sun that they will celebrate the life of Thapelo with a memorial service filled with music, anecdotes and shared memories.
"We want to remember Thapelo as a passionate and talented musician who brought joy and inspiration through his music," she said.
Matlakala said his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were touched by his artistry.

"To his fans and music lovers, we express our deepest gratitude for your unwavering support. Thapelo's journey was enriched by your presence, and your appreciation for his music meant the world to him. Thank you for being part of his musical legacy," she said.
Matlakala said the memorial service will be held at 4pm to give a wider audience the opportunity to pay their last respects to him.
"We want to give as many fans as possible the opportunity to come together to celebrate Thapelo's life and his contribution to the world of jazz. Their presence would mean a great deal to us," she said.
The funeral will take place on Saturday, 27 January. The service will begin at the Communal Hall in Orlando East, Soweto, and the burial will take place at West Park Cemetery in Joburg.
