A LONG-TIME dream of a gospel maskandi musician, Bonakele Myeza, has finally come true.
Bonakele, who has been in the music industry since 2007, will appear on the upcoming SABC1 TV series Impande, which premieres in January 2024.
Bonakele released her debut album, Yonke Indlela in 2009.
Her last album was released in 2019.
The 38-year-old musician from Ulundi, northern KZN, said although she wants to be acting full-time, she will never stop singing gospel maskandi.
“I paused the music for a short time. I promise all music lovers that I will be back next year and give them the new music they want.
“This year, I just focused on shooting the TV series, and it's impossible to do music while shooting many episodes,” she said.

The Ngahlupheka hitmaker said she has heard many people crying for her new music, but she is asking them to be patient.
“Acting needs more time, and it's difficult to also focus on the music while I’m shooting. I've noticed that people are crying on social media about my disappearance.
“Since an early age, I had a love to act and showcase my acting talent, but I didn’t get the chance for that, but I got the chance to showcase my singing talent,” she said.
Bonakele said that she will play a naughty woman in the series but will not reveal much because she wants people to watch the series and see her showcasing her acting talent.
Bonakele follows other top female maskandi artists, legendary Buselaphi Gxowa and Uboneni Magubane, who have appeared on an e.tv series called Nikiwe.
