AHEAD of her one-woman show in Botswana, Limpopo-born musician Makhadzi was given a warm welcome by the Botswana royals and leadership.

In an Instagram post, the singer shared that a Botswana government minister and the royals of the Batlokwa tribe accepted her and gave her their blessings for her show.

She said during the warm welcome, she was showered with various gifts by the Tlokweng village elders and royals.

Expressing her gratitude, she thanked the leaders for allowing her to do her show.

“Botswana is the only country that has shown me so much love even more than my own country. I want to reach out to the younger ones,” she said.

Makhadzi attended the Kgotla event dressed in Setswana traditional attire and she was commended for her talent, influence, tremendous work, and was recognised as one of the leading African stars by the locals.

Previously speaking about her one-woman show, Makhadzi, who has been nominated for the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award under the category Favourite African Star, shared that she will donate 10% of the proceeds from the show to the local charities as her way of giving back.

The event is set to take place on Saturday, 26 March.
