Musician Lalas Kholo released his song Mjolong after a disagreement with his lover.

WHEN he fought with his girlfriend in July 2023, he decided to vent through a song.

But little did he know that the song would get so much attention and be loved.

Lalas Kholo is now back with his girlfriend and sees their little fight as a blessing.

The 30-year-old from Limpopo, whose real name is Kholo Sekgobela, said the song, Mjolong, which was released in August 2023, has even been nominated for Song of the Year in the North Side Music and Media Awards.

He said: “I was fed up with dating when I wrote the song. It was after a fight with my girlfriend, which even made me move out of her place.

"In my mind, I was thinking all girls are the same. I felt I'd never be enough for any woman as I'm actually a hustler and haven't figured everything out in life,” he said.

Lalas Kholo said the song talks about how he doesn’t want to get too involved in dating because it seems to fiddle with one's feelings and has too many expectations and disappointments.

“My girlfriend questioned me about the song, and I lied and said it had nothing to do with how I feel. But I later explained when we were on good terms and she confessed that she actually likes the song as she also joined my fans on Mjolong challenge on TikTok,” he said.

He said he received great feedback.

“The feedback was amazing as people started using the song on TikTok and Facebook stories without me asking them to do so,” he said.

Lalas Kholo said that he's working on other songs which he'll release soon.

“I'm happy for the support, and I'm ready to produce more music that people will love,” he said.
