COMMUNITY radio presenter, producer, and DJ, Lungelo Nzimande, is reaping rewards of the hard work he put in to get more experience on radio.

Lungelo, who is also known as Dlala Matifana from Ixopo in KZN, started his radio career doing weekend shows but he is now presenting an afternoon show called Eyethu the Crazy Drive at Intokozo FM on weekdays.

Lungelo said his love of radio started when he was still at Sinevuso High School.

“I used to do radio presenting when I was alone by imitating popular radio presenters. I decided to visit Inanda to see how the radio station operates and to learn what I can do to work for radio. I spoke to  an Inanda FM presenter who helped me to get an opportunity at the station,” he said.

After completing his matric in 2014, Lungelo studied sound technology at POW Academy as he also wanted to be a DJ.

Lungelo joined Life FM in 2018, where he did weekend shows.

“Unfortunately, I left Life FM because I got a good offer on Intokozo FM. I joined Intokozo in 2020 when I started presenting weekend shows. I presented a show called Dance Floor on Fridays and on Saturdays, I hosted Weekend Drive.

“Because of my hard work, I now present the afternoon drive called Eyethu the Crazy Drive weekdays alongside Mphathi Mbhele,” he said.
