JOZI FM presenter Tshepo Junior Makgopa's assault case has been postponed to Friday, 19 April.

He made a brief appearance in the Protea Magistrates Court in Soweto on Wednesday, 20 March.

His case was postponed as the court is still waiting for copies of his representatives and for further investigations.

Tshepo faces charges of common assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The presenter was accompanied by his wife, Tshego. He was seen wearing a blue T-shirt and a pair of jeans.

Tshepo is accused of assaulting his wife's friend, Rose Buthelezi.

Rose claims Tshepo assaulted her on Saturday, 27 January. This was when they were coming back from an outing with his wife, Tshego.

Rose opened a case against Tshepo, and police spokeswoman Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi said the matter was being investigated.

"As per the case number provided, there is a common assault case opened for further investigation," she said.

Tshepo is known for hosting a popular Sunday midday show called The Sunday Lunch With Tshepo Junior from noon to 3pm.
