IT'S all systems for the long-awaited 29th annual South African Music Awards. 

Despite the KZN government pulling out of the awards, the ceremony will continue to take place at the SunBet Arena in Tshwane on Saturday, 18 November. 

The competition is tough this year with rappers, K.O and AKA both receiving seven nominations each.

AKA is nominated for Record of The Year for his single Lemons (Lemonade) featuring Nasty C, Male Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Best Engineered Album, Best Collaboration (for the single Lemons (Lemonade) featuring Nasty C, Best Collaboration (for the single Company featuring Kiddominant), and Best Produced Music Video (for Lemons (Lemonade) featuring Nasty C. 

K.O is nominated for both Record of the Year and Music Video of the Year for his song Sete featuring Blxckie and Young Stunna, Male Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best Produced Music Video and Remix of the Year for Sete featuring Young Stunna, Oxlade and Diamond Platnumz.

AKA has already won one award for Best Engineered Album for Mass Country, in collaboration with Robin Kohl and Itu at the Industry Awards which were held on Friday, 17 November.

On the other hand, Morda and Kabza De Small are tied, with two awards each so far. Morda won Best Dance Album for Asante and Remix of the Year for Ndinovalo featuring Yallunder. 

Kabza won Best Kwaito Album for Speak N Vrostaan with Kwesta and Best Produced Album for KOA II Part 1. 

The awards continue on Saturday, 18 November at the SunBet Arena in Tshwane.

The main awards will be hosted by DJ Sabby and Nomalanga Shozi. Actresses, Hope Mbhele and Thuthuka Mthembu will host the red carpet.

The biggest award of the night is the Record of The Year and the nominees are Sofa Silahlane by Wanitwa Mos, Master KG and Lowsheen featuring Nkosazana Daughter; Dali Nguwe by Wanitwa Mos and Master KG feat Nkosazana Daughter, Basetsana and Obeey Amor, Soft Life by Nomfundo Moh, Hamba Wena by Deep London and Boohle and Stimela by 2Point1 featuring Ntate Stunna and Nthabi Sings and others.

Some of the songs nominated for Music Video of The Year award are Paris by Q-Mark and TpZee featuring Afrikan Papi, Big Flexa by Costa Titch feat C'buda M, Alfa Kat, Banaba Des, Sdida & Man T, Hamba Wena by Deep London and Boohle; uMlando by 9umba, TOSS and Mdoovar feat Sir Trill, Sino Msolo, Lady Du, Young Stunna and Slade and many others.

The awards will be broadcast on SABC1 at 8pm.
