IT'S judgment day for Mzansi's popular author!

AUTHOR and motivational speaker Jackie Phamotse will appear for her judgement in the Randburg Magistrates Court on Friday, 17 November.

This comes after she made a brief appearance on Tuesday, 24 October.

During her appearance, she was told she must still honour her bail conditions between now and 17 November. The state prosecutor said she shouldn't be engaging with or in contact with the complainants.

This was after she was found guilty of her defamatory case against TV star Basetsana and her business husband Romeo Kumalo on Wednesday, 19 September.

Jackie was charged with two counts of criminal injuria, one count of criminal defamation, and one count of contempt of court. Her case was postponed for pre-sentencing, and she heard her jail terms in September.

In August, the state prosecutor Yusuf Baba said that the constitutional rights to dignity and privacy of Basetsana were infringed when Jackie allegedly tweeted in 2018 that there was a sex video involving the TV mogul and her husband.

The author was also ordered to remove all the statements about the TV star on her social media platforms. She was told if she didn't do that, she would be bridging her bail conditions.

Jackie was also told to comply with these orders, and if she didn't, she would be arrested.
