POPULAR influencer Zuki Lamani is asking South Africans to help her pay her school fees.
She's doing her final year in Bachelor of Arts in linguistics and media studies at the University of Cape Town and needs to pay R240 000.
The aspiring actress opened a back-buddy account which has now raised R840.
"I am a young woman from Khayelitsha in Cape Town. I entered the University of Cape Town for its prestige and the promise of a future brighter than my background.
"My decision to venture into media studies and linguistics was fuelled by my passion for language and how it can be used to break barriers and propel transformation in young people. I am appealing to you to please assist me with my university fees because without them, I can't graduate, and I will not be able to participate in the job market, rendering me as part of the unemployed youth," Zuki said.

She said she'd been blocked from registering, hence the urgent call for help.
"My current fee balance at UCT is R239 432,11, incurring 1% interest every month. I have applied for Nsfas (National Student Financial Aid Scheme), but I was rejected because of the R350k household income cap, she said.
Lamani said she forms part of the "missing middle" in South Africa with a household income of less than R600 000.
"I have been denied registration at the institution because of their policy on fee blocks and, therefore, cannot continue with my studies," she said.
Zuki said she's happy with any donation people can give.
"I am a compassionate and tenacious young lady who is extremely passionate about education and innovation. Any contribution and assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated," she said.
