CLINICAL psychologist and cultural expert Anele Siswana is on a mission to give Mzansi a platform for mental health.
He told Daily Sun that he would be doing seminars around the country, launching it in Joburg as part of his Mind Your Mental Health initiative with Anele Siswana.
My latest project is about mental health seminars and retreats, adding that he saw the need for people to educate themselves about mental illness and other related issues.
Anele said he also invited experts to talk about the role and significance of spirituality, culture, and science in our understanding of holistic healing.
He said people could expect to see TV personality Refilwe Modiselle, Ntate Ranaka, the head of the Ranakas, Reverend Kabelo Motlhakane, Reverend Kamza Monoametsi and counselling psychologist Buyisile Mncina alongside clinical psychologist Dr Khosi Jiyane, at the seminar.
Anele said the event will take place on Saturday, 10 June, at The Maslow Hotel in Sandton, north of Joburg.

"This is our first Mind Your Mental Health seminar series in 2023. This concept seeks to create access to mental health conversations through public intellectual engagement and social media," he said.
Anele said these seminars would highlight how people understand and make sense of mental health.
"Mental health has become a very topical subject in our lives and times. These spaces seek to explore ways to deal with this," he added.
He said being diagnosed and living with a mental health condition is not a sign of weakness. He said these seminars would be a conducive space to unpack very difficult psychosocial constructs.
"What I've discovered, through my experience as a clinical psychologist that has an interest in romantic relationships in the context of couples therapy, is that we often don't cheat because we are looking for sex. There's more to it," he said.
