T he top two Idols SA contestants are one step closer to living the dream.
Thapelo and Nozi were announced as the final two in Tshwane on Sunday.
Mpilwenhle was eliminated. Opening the show was Musa Keys with a stellar performance of his song Selema.
The final two performed their Kalawa-assisted new tracks as well as stripped-down Mzansi classics and relived their favourite performances of the season.
The first round was opened by Mpilwenhle, who performed her own newly recorded single Ngiyazifela.
Thembi said it was a beautiful and catchy song.
“What blew me away today is the choreography. It’s going to be difficult for Mzansi to choose the top two,” she said.
Thapelo followed with his new song Phanda. JR said he liked watching him have fun. Nozi ended the round with her single called Idliso. Somizi said she gave it her heart. Thembi said the performance was perfect.

Mpilwenhle was then eliminated from the show after getting the least amounts of votes.
Seven former Idols SA contestants returned to deliver an epic group performance of Paris by Q-Mark and TpZee featuring Afriikan Papi.
In the second round Thapelo was first with Bra Hugh Masekela’s Thanayi.
Somizi said at this stage it is time to have fun and thank the Lord.
“From now on it’s in the hands of South Africans to vote for you,” he said. Thembi said he deserves to be here.
“Next week have fun and enjoy,” she said. JR also said he must enjoy himself from now on.
Nozi followed by singing Mango Groove’s Moments Away.
Thembi said the performance was beautiful and she is going to go far.
JR said Nozi has won South Africans’ hearts.
Somizi said she performed one of his favourite songs of all time.

The last round saw the two singing their favourite songs of the season.
Thapelo sang The Beatles’ Let It Be and JR said it’s going to be the toughest top two.
Nozi closed off the show with a performance of Jennifer Hudson’s Giving Myself. Somizi said: “It’s going to be a very tough one for South Africa to choose.”
