HEAVENLY Harmonies Gospel Music Extravaganza was allegedly turned into hell

This after the event organisers allegedly snubbed and chased away gospel star, Betusile Mcinga after he reportedly refused to perform outside of his scheduled time.

The event took place on Friday, 29 September at Assemblies of God Convention Centre, eMthatha and Betusile was among the prominent gospel artists booked at the event.

“My call time was at 7pm, I was going to be the third act for the evening. But at 6pm I received a call informing me that one of the artists was running late and I needed to rush urgently to the venue to perform before her to close the gap.

"Indeed, I rushed to the venue as requested. Upon my arrival and readiness to perform, the artist arrived and I was told she’d perform as scheduled before. I had no problem with this arrangement,” he said.

But at this time another artist, who was scheduled to perform after him was already on stage performing.

“Anyway, after these two performances I started preparing to go on stage. But again, a second artist who was supposed to perform way after me arrived and I was humbly requested to allow her to perform before me.

"I agreed although this was going to inconvenience me, the organisers knew beforehand that I needed to travel elsewhere immediately after my performance,” said Betusile.

Betusile said after this artists’ performance he was once again asked to allow a third artist to perform before him.

“This time around I refused. This created a huge challenge for me and as a result, a meeting was quickly convened between my management and the event organisers. Subsequently, the organisers told us leave the event,” he said.

“I am deeply saddened by this turn of events but in the same breath I’d like to send my sincere apology to my fans and followers. I sincerely do not want to disappoint my fans and followers. However at this event, issues escalated beyond my control and I stand firm in protecting my brand at all times,” he said.

Daily Sun approached the event organiser, Liziwe Jikela, but she repeatedly hung up the phone and eventually did not answer the Sun Team's calls.
