MUSICIAN and songwriter Tsimoloho "Tsimo" Lekaota hopes to take his music career to the next level.

This came after she was mentored by one of Mzansi's top producer and musician, Mr Malungelo Sir.

She dedicated 2023 to learn from Malungelo and work with him on her new music.

The 31-year-old musician from the Free State told Daily Sun that they have released amapiano single with Malungelo titled Ngifuna Lo, while they have recorded about seven songs which will be released soon.

"Earlier this year, I released my Afro-pop single under my record label Cloud 9, but I realised that I have more to learn about music. I decided to get mentored by Malungelo at his record label SneTech Media Lebel. It was a great experience, and I learnt a lot about music, composing, singing, promotion and much more," she said.

Tsimo said the mentorship was for 2023 and she will return to her record label Cloud 9 in 2024 to release new music.

"I will be releasing a few singles before I release my debut EPand I promise it will be the best because of my experience with Malungelo.

"I started recording my music in 2018 and released my debut single in 2021, titled Ngiyahamba which was Afro-pop," Tsimo said.

Tsimo said she collaborated with New York-based Afro-house producers DJ Tomer, Gidon Ricardo, as well as Mr NorbleGuy on her Afro-house single titled Nakupenda in 2022.

"This collaboration led to many foreign collaborations in the Afro-house scene when I performed with Senyo Cue from Ghana and 2skiii from Nigeria.

"I still want to work with more international musicians to expand my work while I will continue to work with Mzansi artists to develop myself in the music industry," she said.
