SINGERS Puleng March, Ncebakazi Msomi and Buhle Thela are celebrating Women’s Month by helping women.
The three, who used to be part of internationally-acclaimed choir Joyous Celebration, have been raising funds for a women and children’s home called Tshegofatsa Rona Welfare in Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni.
Puleng, who is leading the project, told Daily Sun helping other women was something close to her heart.
“God gave me a calling to be there for other women going through tough things. I’ve been helping women from a young age,” she said.
“Recently, I attended an event and met a woman called Cynthia Dinalane. She told me she was looking after 20 women and kids who had been abused physically and sexually.

“She has no support and does it from her own pocket.”
Puleng said she wanted to help the home and that was how the campaign started. “I felt like I wanted to give to this woman, even if it’s nappies for a few years and food. I shared this with Ncebakazi and Buhle because they both love helping. They jumped at the opportunity to help.”
Puleng said they decided to launch their campaign with a song.
“We wrote a song of hope for women. It’s titled Cry No More. The proceeds from the song will go straight to the home,” she said.
“We will release a video soon and host a concert by the end of August. We will also knock on doors to get donations and do what we can.”
Puleng said she hoped they could do something every year to help victims of abuse. “We don’t have a plan for now but we will knock on doors to get help wherever we can.”
