PRUDENCE Mandyu (46) believes her inspiration to be a musician is driven by her calling to write, arrange songs and minister with her voice.
The 46-year-old gospel singer who was born in Rustenburg, North West, classified her sound as a fusion of Afro and jazz gospel, which is praise and worship.
She began recording professionally as an artist in 2017 when she recorded her live album Ingakho Ngimdumisa at the Yamaha Theatre in Sandton, north of Joburg in 2022.
She said her parents, who are Christians, inspired her to become a gospel singer.
"I'm a compassionate, selfless, loving and kind, supportive, highly creative, and a hardworking individual," she said.
