NOKUTHULA Mndaweni says what annoys her as a musician is when her voice doesn't play along as desired.
The 50-year-old gospel star said she has been a professional singer for almost a decade and continues to feel blessed.
The contemporary and traditional gospel musician said as a child of God, she chose the gospel genre to preach, minister the word and praise God daily.
"My love of ministering through song drives me, especially in the challenging moments of my life and family and I always seek comfort from God.
"What annoys me is when my voice doesn't cooperate as it should, and my goal is to praise and worship God through my voice," she said.
Nokuthula, who lives in Lamontville in Durban, KZN, said singing has been a part of her life since childhood and a calling that she continues to cherish and love in her life's journey.

The gospel singer said she currently works in research and development as a product technologist for an FMCG company.
"The balance between wanting to make money and spreading the gospel is crucial. Some sing to pray while others seek fame and fortune," Nokuthula said.
She said her worst moment in life was the loss of her mother Irene Mndaweni, who was her spiritual mentor, who died in a car accident in 2006.
She said she wanted to pray for God's presence and more opportunities on this musical journey.
She released an EP called Ubenami in August 2023 and two singles, Qinani in March 2023 and Ulihlathi Lethu Thixo in October 2022.
She said her music is accessible on all digital platforms.
