INTERNATIONALLY-acclaimed choir Joyous Celebration has warned against a fake audition call.

The gospel choir said there has been an article making rounds on social media claiming that there are auditions in Joburg, Cape Town and Durban for 2023 and 2024 and they said it’s fake.

The fake article reads: “Three of South Africa's largest cities-Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Durban-will host auditions. Until May 31 at noon, registration is still open for the Cape Town auditions. The following are the auditions: Cape Town, June 1. Johannesburg, July 11-12. August 2 and 3 in Durban.”

The award-winning choir has shared the warning via their social media platforms.

“Good day family kindly note that there’s misinformation going around about Joyous Celebration having auditions for 2023 & 2024, this is all fake news,” the statement read.

They also shared that they will announce their auditions themselves via their website and  said they do not use a third party.

“Joyous Celebration will not announce any of their events through a third party, everything is done on the official joyous celebration pages & our website.

“Be careful of individuals trying to scam you,” they wrote.
