Gospel singer City Modiba, who said he's bringing something unique to the people.

GOSPEL singer City Modiba said his music gives people hope.

The singer from Polokwane in Limpopo said he sings traditional gospel and he's more into sione music.

City, whose real name is Cedric Thabo Modiba (40), told Daily Sun that God chose gospel music for him at the tender age of eight.

"My songs give hope. My music is for everyone who loves gospel, and it helps revive one's spirituality to be able to tackle their daily problems," he said.

He said in the 10 years of his time in the music industry, people have been telling him that his music is unique and brings something new to gospel.

City said he was inspired by the late Oleseng Shuping because of his unique music.

The singer said that he is a business accountant and a practising tax practitioner.

He said he enjoys being an accountant and believes it would have been his only focus if he wasn't in music.

"I'm a loving person and caring. I'm a Christian and God-fearing man. I'm a family man, a husband, and a father to two beautiful children. I'm a person who always wants to make a positive change in people's lives," City said.

He said he's busy with the City Modiba and Friends Vol 1 Part 2 project, which will be released in April 2024.

He said in the project he has featured more than 25 artists and will be celebrating 10 years in the music industry.

City also founded Moziri Music and has signed 10 gospel musicians.

He released several albums, including Ke Rata Wena in 2013, Emmanuel in 2015, Maikano in 2018, and Ditaba Tsa Jesu Live in 2021.
