FORMER Ukhozi FM presenter Ngizwe Mchunu has been cleared off all charges in his July Unrest incitement case.
The 40-year-old from Nkandla in KZN made a brief appearance in the Randburg Magistrates Court on Friday, 3 November, accompanied by former president Jacob Zuma and his team.
Before the court proceedings, the team was dancing and chanting his name. They also wished him well before his judgment.
After leaving the courtroom, Ngizwe told the media he was happy to be a free man.
"I am happy that I am out . I am now a free man. I am jubilant and over the moon. Justice has prevailed. Today the law was fair. It shows that it was not manipulated by politicians," he said.
He also thanked the people who supported him throughout the case.

"Those who wanted to get rid of me failed. I thank all those who have supported me throughout this journey because these greedy politicians wanted to kill me. The war is only going to start now," he said.
Magistrate Ramanu Sadike said the presenter used his powers to make people follow him. He said this something he knew would cause chaos in the city as he is influential.
Sadike said Ngizwe calling media houses for his meeting to allow Jacob Zuma to be released was one of the things that led this to happen.
Ngizwe had been charged in connection with protests that erupted in July 2021 following the arrest of Zuma. These protests led to the loss of lives and destruction of property.
Ngizwe thanked his supporters and those who stood by him throughout the case.
The Gauteng National Prosecuting Authority welcomed the judgment, stating that they were pleased with the outcome.
