TS Galaxy striker Thamsanqa Gabuza made brief appearance in court on Tuesday.

FORMER Olando Pirates player Thamsanqa Gabuza's case has been postponed to January!

This is because the complainant could not attend as she is in the Eastern Cape.

The Galaxy star will appear in court again on Monday, 29 January 2024.

The 36-year-old popular footballer appeared briefly before the Alexandra Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 19 December.

Previously, Gabuza appeared in court on Monday, 11 December. His case was postponed as the court was looking to do a possible mediation.

The footballer has offered to pay for all the items he damaged. Last month, the soccer star was released on bail of R3 000.

Gabuza was charged with malicious damage to property. On Wednesday, 22 November, the court informed him that it still needed to make further investigations.

This happened at his first appearance after he surrendered to police at Bramley Police Station in Joburg on Tuesday, 21 November.

During his appearance, Magistrate Peggy Senne said he will be granted bail in the sum of R3 000 after his defence lawyer Themba Ngobeni said it is still the middle of the month and he has not yet been paid.

Prosecutor Tshiego Deka read out the bail conditions, which state that he must not go anywhere near the victim or have any contact with her.

She said he must attend all court dates. He must not commit another similar offence, or he will be sent back to prison.

Police investigated the player after a case was opened against him on 11 November for malicious damage to property.

The 31-year-old woman, who is an online teacher, previously spoke to Daily Sun about her ordeal.

She said she met the man in 2021 and they became friends before trying out a romantic relationship which never worked out. The player, on the other hand, claimed that the woman was his wife.

His defence lawyer, Themba Ngobeni, told SunTeam that he had only been convicted of one count of criminal damage to property.
