FORMER Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi has been announced as the host for this year’s South African Film and Television Awards (Saftas).
She will host the awards alongside actor Lawrence Maleka.
The award organisers made the announcement on their social media platforms.
“Ladies and gentlemen, your SAFTAs17 hosts are Zozibini Tunzi and Lawrence Maleka! The SAFTAs team is excited and ready to bring you an entertaining show on 30 September 2023 at 8pm on S3 and Mzansi Magic (channel 161). It's a date!” they wrote.
The awards ceremony will take place on 30 September at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, Gauteng.
Zozi has taken the industry by storm. She was recently seen on The Masked Singer as Robot. She shocked Mzansi with how good she was.
Speaking about the competition then, she said: "I participated in the show because I love to sing. It brings me pure joy. I loved every moment in that musical bubble where people had no idea who I was."
She was also the host of the Miss South Africa reality show TV, Crown Chasers. She hosted the five-episode show, which aired on S3.
