Actress Sonia Mbele will appear at the Johannesburg Magistrates Court on Thursday, 5 October.
The 46-year-old former Generations star is facing 42 counts of various charges related to tax evasion for her company, Real Housewives of South Africa.
“The directors in relation to their company, Real Housewives of South Africa, are facing 42 counts of not filling company income tax from 2019 to 2022, not filing their Value Added Tax (VAT) returns from 2020 to 2022 and also not filing their Pay-As-You-Earn (PAYE) from 2020 until 2022,” NPA Gauteng spokeswoman, Phindi Mjonondwane said.
She was set to appear in court on Wednesday, 27 September, but couldn’t because of ill health.
However, in her response, Sonia swore she had nothing to do with the company as she closed it in 2019.

“Sonia has been once again a victim of misconduct by her past peers and the media. Rhosa is the company in question this time around Sars probing a failure of tax return submission pertaining to Rhosa, which from Sonia’s knowledge, was closed down in 2019,” she said.
During an interview with Dineo Ranaka on her podcast, Dineo on Sex n' Stuff, two months ago, Sonia said she became a millionaire in her 20s.
The former Generations star said she trained herself in a lifestyle of money and ensured she didn't make mistakes.
“I was a multi-millionaire in my 20s. I was the first face of Dark and Lovely, Lux, Sunsilk, and City Power and I was the first face of anything. I had 90 TV commercials locally and internationally.
“I became a millionaire in my 20s. I bought my own first Louis Vuitton bag. So you must understand that I trained myself into a lifestyle. I gave myself a lifestyle. We need to also understand who we are so that way, we don’t repeat the same mistake. We need to break the cycle,” she said.
