THE Fak’ugesi African Digital Innovation Festival is back and more digitally savvy than ever before.
The festival at the forefront of Africa’s creative cultural and technology scene will return to its home in Braamfontein, Joburg, in October 2022 for the 9th edition.
This festival, which is proudly hosted by CEO of Wits University’s Tshimologong Digital Innovation Precinct, is a celebration of young Pan-African talent in the digital sphere at its fullest, and it has been decided that this year’s theme is #FromNowOn which is aiming to showcase the creative climate of a new age after effects of the pandemic both positive and negative to see how it has shaped the youth.
Fak’ugesi, which means “Switch it on” or “add power” in urban Zulu, is focused on culture, technology and innovation in Africa. It is an opportunity for young adults, with or without formal education, to learn or engage with tomorrow’s technology.
