THE fourth season of My Kitchen Rules South Africa returned on Sunday night, 4 September.

The judges, J’Something and David Higgs, welcomed the first contestants of the competition and into the first phase, the Instant Restaurant Phase.

The phase takes place at the contestants’ homes.

Father and son-in-law, Eddie and Martin, were the first team to host. They welcomed the first four pairs on Sunday’s episode Azraa and Waven; Jessica and Nicole; Larce and Jabu and Mark and Mbali into their home in Swartland, Western Cape.

After the Instant Restaurant Phase, comes the Challenge Phase. The pairs that make it in the first phase will then face other each other in new challenges.

Unlike the first phase that’s hosted in their homes, the Challenge Phase will be hosted in the Garden Route in the Western Cape.

The contestants are all vying for the R1 million up for grabs, and the winning duo will be crowned on 11 December.

The winners will join others who’ve been crowned in previous seasons, such as Izak and Wessel who won season three, sisters Rox and Spoen who walked away with the prize in season two, and Jamandi and Machiel Bekke, who were the first to win in season one.

Catch My Kitchen Rules every Sunday on M-Net (DStv channel 101) at 6pm.
