"WHEN Raplyf Records collapsed, things got tough, and we got broke a bit."
These were the words of popular hip-hop duo, T.L.T.
T.L.T is made up of Phethego 'L-Tech' Makanyane (36), from Katlehong and Vusi 'Troublle' Rantlha (34), from Kwa Thema, Ekurhuleni.
The duo told Daily Sun their lives changed for the better when they signed a deal with Raplyf Records, which was owned by rapper Senzo "Kwesta" Vilakazi (35), and his business partner Bonginkosi "Kid X" Mahlangu (34).
The duo became famous when they released their smash hit single titled Nice Life Problems in 2017. They said this introduced them into the music game.

L-Tech said they gained popularity and got to travel the country and perform internationally alongside Kwesta.
He said they also got nominated for a Sama award and their music videos had millions views on YouTube.
However, everything changed in 2021 when the record label collapsed.
Troublle said this affected their bookings because they were off the radar.
He said they also faced challenges to secure capital for studio time, video productions and PR services with TopTier Music.
L-Tech said they felt like giving up, especially when they thought they were doing great, but things didn't come out the way they had imagined.
"It was demoralising but then music always has a way of keeping us afloat and motivated. The passion is just too great," he said.
While navigating the aftermath of Raplyf's collapse, T.L.T said they will be releasing a new album titled MalokoshoRelish and are planning to drop visuals while promoting it in Mzansi and abroad.
The duo will be hosting the second leg of their annual event called Kuyoba Mnandi Ultimate Experience in December.
