Mhlalukwana said she was glad Makwa was getting love from fellow musicians.
“This is the love, support and camaraderie we would love to see among celebrated people. I pray this love got through to Makwa,” she wrote.
Although Makwa has not responded yet, his friends, duo TLT, responded on his behalf, sharing that he just needed some space.
“Everyone calling and texting about Makwa, he’s fine. He just wants to be given space, thanks,” they wrote.
Member of TLT, L Tech told Daily Sun that Makwa hasn't opened up to them, but he is fine for now.
"For now, we cannot say what's happening because he's not telling us anything. We asked him what the issue was and if it is money related, but he's not willing to talk to us," he said.
"What we do know is that it is music related, but he's not saying anything specific," he said.
The musician said they have decided to get professional help for him.
"We spoke about getting him help and we advised each other that getting a therapist for him will be better and he's willing to speak to one," he said.
"It will however take a while for him to get back to social media. He said he wants to stay off social media for now, but he's fine," he continued.
