A case of assault was opened against Shebeshxt.

RAPPER Shebeshxt might find himself in trouble with the law after he was caught on camera moering a man with a beer bottle.

The controversial rapper, whose real name is Lehlogonolo Chauke, is now under investigation after a case of assault was opened against him on Saturday, 2 March.

Limpopo police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Malesela Ledwaba confirmed that a case has been opened against the musician.

“We're investigating a case of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm after a suspect allegedly assaulted a man with a beer bottle on the head on Friday, 1 March at a shopping complex in Lebowakgomo,” said Ledwaba.

In the video, which circulated on social media, the rapper can be seen getting out of his car and attacking the man, who is approaching his car.

After the attack, Shebeshxt (29) left the victim sprawled on the ground and drove away.

His manager, Kholofelo Mawifelena declined to comment when Daily Sun contacted her.

But this was not the first time the rapper trended on social media for the wrong reasons. In February, a video trended where Shebeshxt could be seen hitting a fan before driving off.

Daily Sun also learnt of a shocking number of criminal cases that were previously opened against Shebeshxt. Records show that the rapper from Lebowakgomo in Limpopo started his assault spree as early as 2015.

He was arrested for public drinking in 2018 before facing armed robbery charges two years later. In 2021, he faced charges of armed robbery with a weapon.

A year later, he faced charges of possession of a gun without a license and three charges of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm were registered against him in the same year.

Shebeshxt faced more legal troubles last year as cases of discharging of a firearm and assault were also opened against him.
