DUNDEE July traditional handicap was the centre of entertainment and the place to be in KZN midlands on Saturday, 15 July.
Fashionistas, top musicians, and horse racing fanatics flocked to Endumeni horse racing to enjoy themselves at the handicap themed, African Royalty event.
Ukhozi FM, Gagasi FM and Vuma FM broadcast live from the event where fashion designer Nandi Mkhize and her model, Nonjabulo Geshane, won big at the fashion show.
Nandi and Nonjabulo won Best Female and qualified to participate in the upcoming Joburg Fashion Week in September, while Mthunzi Mthembu won Best Male.
Nonjabulo from Pietermaritzburg said it was her first-time taking part in the Dundee July.
“It was a dream come true for me and I would like to thank my designer, Nandi Mkhize. I’m happy that I will be representing KZN during Joburg Fashion Week this year.
“Winning this has inspired me to work harder in the fashion industry as a model,” she said.

“I was designing my work and posting it on my Facebook page and people were loving it and I never turned my eyes back. I feel like I’m dreaming as I will be showcasing my work in the Joburg Fashion Week,” she said.
Lindani Dube and his horse Alpha & Omega won. They walked away with R300 000 in cash.
Top artists Makhadzi, Big Zulu, Dladla Mshunqisi and many more wowed the audience at the Dundee July Experience held at Battlefield, a few kilometres away from Endumeni racecourse.
