DJ and businesswoman DJ Zinhle has had another unfortunate encounter with an employee who's allegedly stolen from her.

According to a police report seen by Daily Sun, the Umlilo hitmaker caught an employee from her Era By DJ Zinhle store in Menlyn, Tshwane stealing from her.

The employee is accused of stealing items worth R96 000. She was arrested on 12 January and appeared at the Pretoria Magistrates Court.

The report reveals the DJ suspected that the employee was stealing from her.

"The complainant alleged that she employed (the suspect) at her store, then she started to become suspicious that the business wasn't running well in terms of profit," the report read.

It further reveals that DJ Zinhle tried to catch the employee by trapping her.

"She then went with her friends to the store, and they bought some items. Later, she went back to the store and asked to see the money for the day, and she failed to produce. She gave her R200, then she confessed she took it," it read.

They also found some stolen items at the employee's house.

"They also went to her place where they found the items from the store," it continued.

The store was recently opened last year in October. The DJ made the announcement about the store, which was set to be her sixth physical store on social media. At the time, she said she was excited to finally open a store in Tshwane.

Her Era By DJ Zinhle brand also celebrated ten years late last year, just before the opening of the Menyln store.

This is the second incident involving DJ Zinhle and an employee allegedly stealing from her.

Last year, City Press reported that the DJ had opened a case against her former employee who allegedly stole R500 000 from her business account.

Gauteng police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Mavela Masondo confirmed that the suspect was arrested.

"A case of theft was opened at Brooklyn Police Station. The suspect, aged 23, was arrested and appeared at Pretoria Magistrates Court," he said.

DJ Zinhle's team declined to comment.
