AFRO-SOUL singer Basetsana Kolwane wants her fans to feel loved when they see her.
The 26-year-old Joburg-based musician was born and raised in Klerksdorp, North West. She said people must know her as a realist because she’s all about love, perseverance, and hope.
“My fresh music closely examines who Basetsana is and what she stands for. I worked with Teejay and Ntokzin,” she said.
The singer said she worked with Teejay and Ntokzin on the song Lwangepela, which was released in May 2022.

Basetsana said she has always loved music because her dad treasured great sound.
She said her dad used to play old-school soul music.
“My music is meant for healing, promoting messages of hope, and love for the young and old,” she said.
“I’ve worked with Prince KB, Master KG, Sir Trill, Zano, Azana, DJ Melzi, Lucille Slade, Nkosazana Daughter, Makhadzi, Makwa, Jessica LM, Obeey Amor, and Lowsheen. Working with them was enjoyable and eye-opening,” she said.
In December 2021, she was featured on Master KG’s hit single titled Dali Nguwe alongside Nkosazana Daughter, and Obeey Amor.
“I was also featured on Uthando Lwakho by Lowsheen and Master KG, including Zajiki Izinto by Teejay and Thackzin featuring Sir Trill, and Master KG. I was also on Ungowami by Lowsheen featuring Makhadzi,” she said.
Basetsana said she would like to work with Kabza De Small, DJ Maphorisa, Msaki, Zakes Batwini, and Something Soweto.
“Their musicality is diverse, and there is an evident element of soul and contemporary music direction. They work hard as well,” she said.
