AFTER a brief disappearance, award-winning rapper Yanga Chief is back with a new single, My Baby.

Yanga Chief, whose real name is Yanga Ntshakaza from Mthatha in the Eastern Cape, said he aims to deliver a fresh sound that showcases his evolution as an artist while remaining true to himself with his Xhosa rap tempo.

He said the song offers a clear glimpse into his personal and professional journey during his time away and it's filled with introspective lyrics on a laid-back beat, which is a testament to his growth and multifaceted talents.

My Baby is an actual conversation I've been having with those closest to me. Everybody seems to be asking me what I've been up to and honestly, I've been working.

“I've adopted a razor-sharp focus in my other business interests, and I’m at a point where I can honestly say music is what I do for fun,” Yanga Chief said.

He said during his hiatus, he dedicated his time to expanding his horizons, gaining experiences that have influenced his perspective on music and life.

Yanga Chief told Daily Sun that his renewed focus and dedication is to delivering top-notch quality for his fans reflect his commitment to both his craft and his audience.

“I’m blessed to have fans who enjoy the music I make, and I will always put out the best quality for them. That’s another thing I've learnt in business. The customer is king,” he said.
