AT the age of 12, Katlego Magampa began his journey in rap and later ventured into beat-making.
After going through a breakup in December 2022, Katlego found comfort in amapiano.
Now the 25-year-old from Joburg, who is known as Sushi B, has bagged the biggest gig of his life.
Sushi B has collaborated with Disney+ on a campaign called #DisneyPlusDezema.
He is well known for his songs Shakespeare and 7de Laan.
Sushi B, who is also a music composer and producer, said that he was approached by Disney + to make a song for the campaign.

The song is called This is Dezemba and it embodies the way South Africans uniquely celebrate the festive season, be it outdoors, at gatherings, with friends and family, with iconic music and entertainment.
Sushi B said amapiano didn’t just open doors for him, but it served as a source of healing.
“I didn’t want to put out this negative energy because I was really upset at the time. I found a place of hearing in amapiano,” he said.
He said the song will be the anthem for Disney+’s local festive campaign that sees the latest original series and movies being made available, such as Disney’s Percy Jackson and The Olympians and Diary of a Wimpy Kid Christmas: Cabin Fever.
Sushi B said he drew inspiration from Disney+’s vast content library and the many use of trumpets in Disney+ soundtracks to produce the track, also referencing the Disney+ pneumonic “click” sound.
"When Disney+ approached me to collaborate with them it was a dream come true and a full circle moment. I therefore couldn't pass up the opportunity to make a banging tune with one of the biggest streaming and entertainment companies to bring a #DisneyPlusDezemba to South Africans," he said.
Christine Service, the senior vice president and general manager of The Walt Disney Company Africa, said they are excited for the collaboration.
